How can I support you?

01

COACHING

For me, coaching begins with a genuine human conversation. It is a safe space where you can slow down, look more closely at what really matters to you and explore your own way forward with greater awareness.

As your coach, I support you in recognising your potential, making sense of your thoughts, naming what you need and turning what matters into decisions and action. I will not give you a formula for how to live. I help you find answers that belong to you.

Intro call

Before we decide to work together, I invite you to a 30-minute, no-obligation conversation.

It is a chance to meet, talk about what brings you here and explore what you may need. It matters to me that we both feel this way of working is a good fit for you.

You do not need a perfectly defined goal or a finished plan. You can simply come with what is present for you right now.

Coaching session

A coaching session lasts around 60 minutes and can take place online, in person in Oulu or by phone. We will choose the format that feels most comfortable and accessible for you.

Every session is different because every person — and every story — is different. We talk about what feels important to you in that moment: career change, relationships, decisions, self-worth, a need for change, difficult moments, dreams, or something you cannot quite name yet.

There is no hierarchy of topics here.

If it matters to you, it matters in our conversation.

I want you to feel that you can be fully yourself in our sessions — without judgement, pressure or the need to prove anything. Together, we will look carefully at where you are now and where you would like to go.

MENTORING

Mentoring is where I share experience and the lessons that have mattered most to me.

Life mentoring in particular is very personal. It gives me space to share not only knowledge, but lived experience — what life has taught me, the reflections that came with it, and the things I wish I had understood sooner.

I am not a mentor because I have an answer to every question. I am a mentor because I have lived through situations that may, in some way, resemble parts of your story today. If something I have learned can make your path a little easier, calmer or simply less lonely, I am glad to share it.

Career mentoring — especially for immigrants in Finland

Moving to another country and rebuilding a career can be an enormous challenge. I know that from experience.

I moved to Finland at the age of 40 and, professionally, I had to begin almost from scratch. I learned the language, adapted to a new reality, got to know the Finnish labour market and work culture, changed professional direction and rebuilt my career step by step.

Today I have several years of HR experience and work that I find meaningful. I also remember how much uncertainty, frustration, urgency and self-doubt can appear along the way.

If you are an immigrant in Finland looking for work, wondering how to navigate the Finnish job market, how to make use of your previous experience, how to change fields or how to rebuild your professional path, I can share what my own journey has taught me.

My career mentoring also draws on my HR background. I can help you strengthen your CV and cover letter and show you how to shape your LinkedIn profile so that it becomes a useful part of your job-search strategy.

I do not promise shortcuts or magic solutions. What I can offer is perspective, practical experience and a thoughtful conversation about options that make sense for you.

Interview preparation

Being invited to an interview is already an achievement. Out of many applicants, someone saw potential in your profile and decided they want to know more.

Now you have an opportunity to show who you are, what you can do and the value you could bring to the organisation. It is your chance to tell your professional story, communicate your strengths and help the interviewers understand why you may be the right person for the role.

Even with strong experience and the right skills, interviews can bring a great deal of stress and uncertainty. That is why I also offer individual interview preparation combining coaching with career mentoring.

On one side, we work on you: your confidence, the way you talk about your strengths and experience, and how you communicate your value without trying to become someone you are not.

On the other, I bring my HR and recruitment experience. I share practical guidance on what to pay attention to, how to prepare for common questions, how to talk about your competencies and experience, and how to avoid typical interview traps.

Life mentoring

Some of life’s most important lessons cannot be found in a textbook. We can, however, learn from what we have lived through — and sometimes pass that learning on.

In life mentoring, I share my own experience and reflections in several areas that are deeply important to me, including:

- Adult Child of an Alcoholic (ACoA)

This is an important part of my story. Today I also know that it is not my whole story, and it does not define either me or my life.

I want to be very clear here: coaching and mentoring are not substitutes for psychotherapy. Therapy was essential in my own healing process, and it may be the right form of support for you too. If you need therapeutic or medical support, please reach out to a qualified mental-health professional.

What I can offer in this area is understanding from the perspective of someone with lived experience, together with the lessons I learned while rebuilding myself step by step. I can share how I reached a place where ACoA remains an important part of my history — but only one part — and how I learned to celebrate my life beyond it.

- Thoughtful parenting

Parenting, especially through the teenage years, can feel like an extreme sport with no safety harness. There are boundaries to set and reset, emotions running high and days when the goal seems to be simply to make it through without losing your mind. But parenting is also about building a relationship — one that can become a source of stress, frustration and loneliness, or something deeply meaningful: closeness, trust, mutual respect, learning from one another, unconditional love and a friendship that can continue long after a child leaves home.

My son is now a wonderful, wise and valuable man. I do not know how much of that is because of me, but I know how much he has shaped the person I am today.

If you want to talk about building a close, respectful and meaningful relationship with your child, I can share what my own experience has taught me.

Perhaps something in that experience will be useful to you right now.
